About NestEggTrack

NestEggTrack is a free, ad-supported retirement and FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) calculator, with articles on retirement planning, early retirement, and tax-aware withdrawal strategies. The goal is simple: help you turn a retirement income target into a concrete savings number, check whether your current contributions are projected to get you there, and see roughly what you could withdraw once you retire.

What the calculator does

The calculator works in three steps, and you can use any of them on its own. For a walkthrough of every input, with worked examples, see How to Use the Calculator.

  • Find My Retirement Goal. Enter your monthly budget by category. The tool adjusts it for inflation up to your retirement age, grosses it up for an estimated tax rate, and estimates the nest egg needed to fund your chosen number of retirement years.
  • Am I on Track? Enter your current savings, monthly contributions (plus any employer match), and an expected annual return. The tool projects your savings to your retirement age and shows how that compares with your target.
  • How Much Can You Withdraw in Retirement? Enter a starting balance, a retirement length, an expected return, inflation, and a tax rate. The tool estimates the annual and monthly amount you could withdraw, before and after estimated tax.

What it isn't

This is an educational estimation tool, not financial, tax, or legal advice. It relies on simplified, constant assumptions (for example, a steady annual return and a single estimated tax rate) that won't match real market behavior year to year. Please treat the output as a starting point for a conversation with a licensed financial advisor, not a plan to follow blindly.
